GSMBC Coaching Scholarship Program

Unlocking Opportunity for the Next Generation of Coaches

The GSMBC Coaching Scholarship Program is designed to remove financial barriers to certification, ensuring that passionate riders and leaders around the world can access world-class coaching education.

Each year, GSMBC awards scholarships to two coaches per country, covering the cost of one certification course.

This program exists for those who demonstrate dedication, leadership, and community impact—but who may not have the resources to pursue certification on their own.

    • Aspiring or current coaches with a commitment to professional growth.

    • Riders who demonstrate leadership, mentorship, or community involvement.

    • Individuals who would benefit from financial support in order to complete GSMBC training.

    • Applicants may apply directly, or be nominated by someone who believes in their potential.

  • The application period will open December 1st - January 15th, every year. Applications will not be accepted outside of this window.

Applicants will then be chosen and announced Feb 1st.

    • One fully funded GSMBC certification course: Apprentice, Adaptive, L1–L4.

    • Mentorship from experienced GSMBC coaches

    • Access to the global GSMBC network of peers and professionals

    • Eligibility for industry partner benefits (gear support, pro-deals, and internships)

  • Recipients are chosen based on their passion, leadership, and impact in the mountain-biking community, especially where financial barriers might otherwise prevent certification. Each year, two coaches per country (where GSMBC operates) are awarded the scholarship. Applicants (or nominees) must share their story, describe how they serve their community through riding or coaching, and supply references. The selection process evaluates their commitment to growth, their demonstrated or potential community influence, and their need for financial support, and final selection is at the sole discretion of the GSMBC Strategic and Global Education Teams.
