• Aspiring or current coaches with a commitment to professional growth.

• Riders who demonstrate leadership, mentorship, or community involvement.

• Individuals who would benefit from financial support in order to complete GSMBC training.

• Applicants may apply directly, or be nominated by someone who believes in their potential.

• Countries included are those within the core GSMBC Global schedule: Canada, the USA, Australia and New Zealand. Two additional scholarships will be awarded across our other locations in the UK, Spain, South Africa and Chile.

The application period will open December 1st - 31st, every year. Applications will not be accepted outside of this window.

Applicants will then be chosen and announced Jan 31st.

Recipients are chosen based on their passion, leadership, and impact in the mountain-biking community, especially where financial barriers might otherwise prevent certification. Each year, two coaches per country (where GSMBC operates) are awarded the scholarship. Applicants (or nominees) must share their story, describe how they serve their community through riding or coaching, and supply references. The selection process evaluates their commitment to growth, their demonstrated or potential community influence, and their need for financial support, and final selection is at the sole discretion of the GSMBC Strategic and Global Education Teams.

Scholarship recipients are invited to share their experience with the GSMBC Coaching Scholarship. This includes:

• Writing a short blog or reflection (approx. 300–500 words) about their experience.

• Highlighting how the scholarship helped them develop their coaching skills and connect with their local riding community.

• Sharing updates, insights, or lessons learned through their social media channels to inspire other coaches and riders.

These reflections and updates help showcase the impact of the scholarships and support our mission to grow accessible, high-quality coaching worldwide.
